Ayn Rand was Not a Libertarian

Ayn Rand hated Libertarianism.

On the News tonight I see protestors of Obama's 'New Socialism' calling themselves 'Tea Baggers.'

This is such a blatant misuse of this country's own heritage as to be more than laughable.

Nonetheless, what is so funny is that I see gaggles and gaggles of libertarian protestors holding up actual portraits of Ayn Rand, as well as signs that read 'Atlas is Shrugging' and so forth. When, Ayn Rand herself, completely denounced the libertarian party, mind you, not certain libertarians, but the ENTIRE existence of the Libertarian party.

--"The religious conservatives are seeking to tie capitalism to mysticism; the “libertarians” are tying capitalism to the whim-worshipping subjectivism and chaos of anarchy. To cooperate with either group is to betray capitalism, reason, and one’s own future."--

I don't know what could be more ironic.

You need to scroll down on the Wonkette link to see all the awful protester's own ignorance to what they themselves contend to uphold.

Ayn Rand herself denounced not only the libertarian party, but both American political parties as well.

"The so-called conservative party is a body without a mind, the 'liberal,' a mind without a body."

--Ayn Rand

I cannot find more true a synopsis of the problems of this country. Both parties are aberrations of themselves and one needs what the other lacks and vice versa.

Further, it all goes to show you how a political system cannot exist or sustain itself without a coherent morality and coherent philosophy inherent in the existing population. This last sentence only slightly paraphrases Rand herself.

What is even more outrageous is that it takes a liberal president to get criticism of socialist policy and big government. When, socialism and more generally, statism has been the extremely consistent direction of every modern administration as far back as at least FDR. Every single administration has only made the government bigger. Bush himself was FAR more 'socialist' than Obama, though both are extremely statist.

This fact is even more testimony to the total ignorance of the general American population as to even an inkling of a clue as to what's going on, not to mention their utter stupidity and (beyond severe) lack of education.

All the current 'teabaggers' are evidence to is that this country is a nation founded by intellectuals, and populated by philistines.

It is not politics or philosophy that should go or is to blame, but only the philistine that must be 'targeted for termination.' That is, if there can be any hope for a future of a free society.

Vesper Heliotropic (Graphic Novel)

Amidst the chaos of a rapidly changing future world, a young girl struggles to define her own life and identity.

The question of how man can afford the old society of empire over many passive consumer lives, is what she and many others find no longer compatible to human existence…'

'Vesper Heliotropic' is the title of a series of novels in an on-going story I am writing. 'Morning,' the first book, is set to come out in June next year.

*Disclaimer of Personal View & Anonymity:

Objective Philosophy is the brand of philosophy I subscribe to. This is to be distinguished from Ayn Rand's Objectivism, which it is largely taken from, but of which it is not.

All writing I do is from the point of view of Objective Philosophy under my own limited and evolving personal interpretation, which holds to certain views based on principles that I have derived as objectively as I can considering my own past and current personal means. This means that the time of the posting denoted by the post's time stamp is where I was philosophically and politically or otherwise, at that time, and may not be in future posts. Each successive post's content is subject to new knowledge which can change my own views. That view at any time, is also subject to the error and limitation of an individual basing conclusions solely and directly from actual personal experiences, anecdote, direct observational recordings, my own application of scientific principles, as well as my own level of accrued information from research of science and generally accepted knowledge.

My view must therefore here be considered apart from Objective Philosophy itself as well as science, though I hold science to be an eventual and/or ideal basis for it. As far as I know right now, I am the only individual who is a self-described 'Objective Philosopher,' though I hold no claim to this plain title, it has been in the interests of remaining neutral that I have called it this.
